Measurable Change in Guatemala (2025)

Fundamaya is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to transparency, accountability, and measurable impact. We track program outcomes across education, healthcare, nutrition, and community development to ensure donor resources are used effectively and responsibly.

2025 Impact Overview

In 2025, Fundamaya directly supported thousands of individuals across Guatemala through integrated social, health, and education programs.

  • 773 students actively served through education programs

  • 69 children enrolled in preschool programs

  • 1,890 individuals benefited from clean water access initiatives

  • 14,000 meals served to elderly individuals

  • 1,247 food baskets distributed

  • Over 1,962 Christmas gifts delivered

  • 175+ families supported through food assistance programs

  • 139 household utility payments supported

  • 47 medical cases successfully completed with positive outcomes

Social and Community Well-Being Program

Healthy Families

  • 13 students received prescription eyeglasses, improving daily functioning and educational access.

Medical Case Care and Support

Fundamaya provided coordinated medical care across multiple specialties for individuals in need of ongoing treatment.

  • 69 individuals received medical care and case support

  • 175 medical appointments supported throughout the year

  • Specialty care provided included:

    • 50 internal medicine cases

    • 36 dental cases

    • 22 pediatric cases

    • 19 ophthalmology cases

    • 8 gynecology cases

    • 13 additional specialist cases

Some patients required multi-specialty care coordination to complete treatment plans.

  • 47 medical cases were successfully completed with positive health outcomes

Nutrition Support

  • Approximately 65 children received ongoing nutritional support due to identified deficiencies.

Health and Well-Being Initiatives

Clean Water Access

  • 378 water filtration units distributed

  • 1,890 individuals benefited directly

Clean Cooking & Energy Access

  • 49 Onil stoves distributed, benefiting 245 people

  • 48 solar panels installed, benefiting 240 individuals

These initiatives reduce household costs and improve long-term health conditions.

Community Coordination

Fundamaya partnered with two communities to implement food assistance initiatives and strengthen local coordination capacity.

Senior Support Center

Our senior care programs provided essential nutrition, dignity, and health support for elderly individuals.

  • 65 elderly individuals served through food and meal programs

  • 14,000 lunches served at the San Jorge La Laguna Senior Center

  • 69 elderly individuals received nutritional formula support

  • 320 cans of Ensure Advance distributed

  • 66 individuals (elderly and people with disabilities) received adult diapers and hygiene support

Giving the Gift of Smiles (Food & Family Support)

  • 1,247 food baskets distributed

  • 875 total beneficiaries across 175+ families

  • 248 emergency food cases addressed

Additional family support included:

  • 47 Family Health Packages

  • 45 Hygiene Packages

  • Emergency rainy season support packages

Community Support & Quality of Life

  • 173 birthday care packages

  • 40 birthday cakes

  • 49 birthday gifts

  • 1,962 Christmas gifts distributed

  • 84 pieces of household furniture delivered

  • 139 basic utility payments supported

  • 2 housing construction projects completed for vulnerable families

Volunteer & Global Engagement

  • 12 volunteer groups participated in community service initiatives

  • Activities supported children, youth, elderly individuals, and families across multiple communities

Disability Support

  • 22 individuals with disabilities received direct support services

Education Program

Fundamaya’s education programs support long-term opportunity and academic development.

  • 773 students actively supported in 2025

  • 69 preschool children enrolled across three communities:

    • Panajachel: 29

    • San Jorge La Laguna: 20

    • San Antonio Palopó: 20

Additional Education Impact

  • 276 students received supplementary donor-sponsored support

  • 47 students received remedial instruction in core subjects

  • 1,385 visits to the Gaby Lewis Community Library (avg. 150/month)

  • 15 motivational talks delivered to 708 students and youth
